Calotte Academy 2010 Final Report

The Calotte Academy 2010 was organized from April 7-13, 2010 in Salla and Inari, Finland; in Apatity and Murmansk, Russia; and in Kirkenes, Norway. The main theme of the Calotte Academy 2010 was "The High North in World Politics and Economics". It included two main fields, Politics and Economics, and two main geographical contexts and dimensions, the High North and the World.

The Calotte Academy is an annual travelling symposium that emphasizes dialogue among members of the research community and students, and a wide range of other northern stakeholders. The Academy is structured so that in each location there will be a working session with academic presentations and / or a public session with expert presentations. The Calotte Academy also acts as a sub-forum for the Open Assemblies of the NRF and a meeting place for the NRF-UArctic Thematic Network on Geopolitics and Security, which had its business meetings in Kirkenes and in Inari
